I take cut-out and pasted pictures not as a genre, but as one of the techniques for expression,

and I create "paper-colored paintings" using only paper.

A unique technique for coloring thin Japanese paper by shaving it with the blade of a knife and layering it in several layers.

 

By incorporating brightly colored Chiyo paper such as Kinkan and Yuzen,

it expresses the unique texture, depth, and delicate color overlap of paper.

 

In addition, from the structure of layering paper, the work naturally has strength and has a three-dimensional finish.

 

In addition, due to the influence of popular culture that I was familiar with in childhood, the motif is composed as a character design. By contrasting traditional materials, techniques, and pop culture expressions, we aim to create a new visual expression that combines the charms of both.

 

 

私は、切り絵や貼り絵を一つのジャンルとしてではなく、表現のための技法の一つとして捉え、

紙のみを素材とした「紙彩画」を制作している。

薄い和紙をナイフの刃先で削ぎ、何層にも重ねることで彩色を行う独自の技法や

金襴や友禅などの色鮮やかな千代紙を取り入れることで、紙特有の質感や奥行き、

繊細な色の重なりを表現している。

さらに紙を重ねる構造から、作品は自然と強度を持ち、立体的な仕上がりとなっている。

また、幼少期に親しんだ大衆文化の影響から、モチーフはキャラクターデザインとして構成しており
伝統的な素材や技法、ポップカルチャー的な表現を対比させることで、両者の魅力を併せ持つ新たな視覚表現を目指している。
